Born of Indian parents, I grew up in the UK and Europe. Indian food was a constant presence in my day-to-day life and it kept me close to my roots. It is my soul food and a taste of home. After university, my passion for cooking and, in particular, creating everyday Indian dishes that were fresher, lighter and simpler to cook led me to spend time in commercial kitchens, learning everything I could. But my first love is for delicious food that is simple enough to cook at home.

I’ve been hugely fortunate in my career. I have hosted 3 prime time series on Indian food (2 series of ‘Indian Food Made Easy’ on BBC2 and ‘Anjum’s Spice Stories’ on SBS Food Network Aus), published 8 cookbooks and won some awards along the way.

I learnt a lot on the journey and one very happy realisation was that people were finally looking for real Indian food but if you didn’t scratch cook, you were often left unsatisfied. So in 2011, I partnered up with my husband and realised my longstanding dream of creating an authentic range of foods for the supermarkets. The Spice Tailor was born - a third and demanding child. It has been a real labour of love (and so much more!).

We really hope you enjoy cooking and eating our food as much as we do.
